Vapomat - Heat-Setting and Steaming Systems
APPLICATIONS AND PRODUCTION
The WELKER cylindrical VAPOMAT systems are the heavy duty and
high performance heat-setting machines for all applications. VAPOMAT
is available in various diameters and lengths, and in two temperature
ranges. Due to its technical configuration, the VAPOMAT can also be
used as conditioner.
EXCELLENT RESULTS AT LOW COST
The proven injection system INJECTOR ensures sensitive control of
vacuum and temperature during the conditioning cycle. The cycle can
be programmed with one or double vacuum cycle at 95% HIGH
VACUUM. The cycle times are optimised at max. 45 minutes with one
vacuum cycle. The INJECTOR combined with the ECO- heating system
allows reduced cycle times thus reducing process- and energy costs by
up to 50% when compared to other conditioners and steamers.
PROGRAMMABLE VACUUM CYCLES
The standard HIGH VACUUM system can be programmed for one or
more vacuum cycles, according to plant needs. High vacuum means
deep penetration of saturated steam into yarn packages for optimal
moisture regain. The exclusive water ring vacuum system cares for
HIGH VACUUM of up to 95%.

CONFIGURATION
The VAPOMAT with RADIAL FLOW system incorporates one or
more powerful radial fans placed on top of the autoclave to
collect the air inside the autoclave and redistribute it via a
channel system to the yarn. The system will be in motion during
both the pre- heating and the steaming phase, ensuring positive
heating of the yarn and also a absolutely homogenous positive
steaming process.
This sophisticated circulation results in a permanent and even
steam flow around the material. Differences of temperature or
moisture can no longer occur within the autoclave.
BENEFITS
The advantage over conventional steamers of any kind is
obvious. In the case of steamers with separate boiler the steam
is inserted in the autoclave via a piping system in the bottom of
the autoclave.
The material to be steamed is subjected to very varying degrees
of temperature during the steaming process. In cases where the
steam is heated inside the autoclave, the situation is even worse,
because in any phase of the process the yarns disposed on the
bottom of the autoclave are always submitted to a higher
temperature than the yarns in a higher position. There is
abolutely no control of the steam flow inside the machine.
Additionally, the RADIAL FLOW allows to reduce by 20% the
processing times due to the homogenous distribution of the
steam in combination with the WELKER HIGH VACUUM
technology. In the case of sythetic yarns the RADIAL FLOW
provides absolutely uniform bulking and stabilisation. In the case
of texturised qualities optimum bulking effects are achieved.

UNIPHASE AND MULTIPHASE SYSTEM
VAPOMAT systems can be supplied with two types of heating. The
UNIPHASE is the classic integrated heating system and
recommended for temperatures up to max. 120°C. The new
Multiphase system combines the most innovative technologies for
the quality steaming with the best results achievable in the market .
HIGH VACUUM together with the exclusive INJECTOR and
RADIAL FLOW guarantee the best performance and energy cost
ratio of all machine types in the market.
